I spent six days working in and around the Chateau La Gonfrie in the small village of St Caprais de Bordeaux. The weather was excellent for plein air with bright sunny mornings casting long shadows to paint. The host John Michel was charming and provided us with excellent wine. He provided a fabulous wine tasting session and introduced us to the local delicacy Arcachon Bay oysters! I managed seven small studies in oil.
